Whereas Peumus boldus Mol. rarely !owers in its native habitat until at least 4 years old, in this article, we report the precocious !owering of 5-month-old P. boldus seedlings and provide possible explanations for this phenomenon. We cultivated 3000 seedlings during 6 months under nursery conditions, and three plants representing three di$erent mother trees from a single stand !owered at 5 months since sowing.
